It is a reasonable NVR candidate, but it should be treated as a Wi-Fi camera first: loss, roaming, and interference are recording risks, not merely live-view annoyances.

What the current product documentation establishes

TP-Link's VIGI documentation lists a 4 MP sensor, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, pan/tilt, IP66, a microSD slot, RTSP, and ONVIF Profile S. The published specification also lists DC power rather than PoE, so the physical installation needs a protected power route.

Specifications describe the product family and available options; they do not prove that a particular firmware, regional SKU, network, or third-party recorder will behave identically. Confirm the full model code before ordering and retain the current manual with the camera inventory.
